ABOUT THE SYMPOSIUM
Objectives:
to highlight recent R and D advances in production and post harvest technologies
to discuss current issues on consumer demand, market access and trade to provide a forum for information exchange among researchers, producers, academicians, traders, policy makers and other stakeholders in the tropical and subtropical fruit industry to establish and strengthen the network linkages between the researchers, producers, traders, policy makers and other stakeholders in the tropical and subtropical fruit industry.

Call for Papers / Posters:
Participants are encouraged to contribute to the symposium in both the oral and poster sessions. Interested participants are requested to submit to the Secretariat an abstract oftheir presentation (maximum of 250 words). Abstracts prepared in MS word with Times New Roman font size 12, should include the title of the paper, name of author or authors, mailing address and email, with content specifying the objective of the work, methods and procedures followed by summary of results /conclusion and keywords. Selected papers will be published in a special issue of Acta Horticulturae.

The preferred poster size is 76.2 cm (30 inches) X 50.8 cm (20 inches)

Exhibition Booth:
An exhibition will be held at the hotel foyer. Companies interested to display their products and services are requested to contact the secretariat.
Exhibition booths measuring 3m X 3m are available at USD 500 per booth (includes panel boards, power outlet, one table and 2 chairs).
Post Symposium Technical Visit:
A field visit will be arranged for registered participants on 20 June 2012 to South China biggest fruit market, the Jiangnan fruit wholesale center, litchi and banana germplasm center at GAAS and the National Modern Agricultural Demonstration Farm at Baiyun.
Registration Fees:
Registration fees will cover attendance to the sessions, tea breaks, lunch, reception dinner and field visit, besides a copy of the proceedings.
